Hemorrhoids Symptoms

 Hemorrhoids Symptoms

Hemorrhoid symptoms in general can include one or more of the following:

Pain around the anus when sitting, standing or walking.

Pain at the anus on passing a motion.

Intense pain can be caused by thrombosed hemorrhoids, for the most past such pain is unbearable and you’ll most likely head to the hospital or doctor.

Discomfort on passing a motion.

Discomfort – feeling you need to go, but nothing comes out. all the straining just makes things worse by the way.

Just a general feeling of discomfort from the anal area.

Leakage of stool can be a very smelly and a very uncomfortable symptom. Leakage can also lead to the feelings of burning and itching, as it can cause a nappy rash type reaction.

Itching around the anus can become intense and very unpleasant.

A burning sensation around the anus can also be quite unpleasant.

Bleeding is another common sign of hemorrhoids, especially into the stool. bright red blood is suggestive of hemorrhoids, while very dark or black blood is more suggestive of other complaints higher inside.

Feeling the hemorrhoids when washing can sometimes really scare someone for the first time. Prolapsed hemorrhoids – hemorrhoids that develop inside but ‘fall’ out – and external hemorrhoids – hemorrhoids that develop outside – are two types of hemorrhoids that can be felt while bathing. the former often feels like a dangly bit, while the external ones feel like a small lump.

Prolapsed hemorrhoids look like a small bunch of tiny grapes.

Thrombosed hemorrhoids look big and tight for the most part.

The normal color of prolapsed hemorrhoids is reddish pink, while a thrombosed one is often bluish, while an external one is often brownish. Internal ones you can not see, but they are pinky red too.

Prolapsed hemorrhoids are ‘graded’ by doctors according to their symptoms, the more they show outside and the harder they are to keep inside, the higher the grade given to them. When symptoms are diagnosed at a grade four level, a hemorrhoidectomy may well be suggested.Summing Up

These are, by far and large, the most common signs and symptoms of hemorrhoids. If you have any of these symptoms, then there is a real possibility that you may be suffering from hemorrhoids. Differential diagnosis is, however, very important. Blood in the stool can be caused by typhoid fever or cancer. Itching can be caused by genital warts, especially if sexual penetration was involved. Burning by any sort of infection. Incontinence – leaking stool – by infection or organic causes.

The best way to diagnose is to see your health professional – for most people this will normally be their doctor. the doctor or other health professional will look at your symptoms and may suggest the need for more definitive tests to obtain an accurate diagnosis or grade your hemorrhoids to help work out which medical or alternative treatment may be the best way of helping you.

If seeing the doctor is too awkward, consider writing the symptoms down for them to read. A good doctor will normally be sensitive and understanding to your embarrassment and put you at ease before doing an examination. If you are a male you may prefer a female doctor, if you are a female, you may feel less threatened if the consultation is with a female doctor.

Are these Genital Warts?

1280400311 84 Are these Genital Warts?

First off, I'd like to say that I am a 19 year old male. I have had sex with my first girlfriend ever (2 year relationship) with no problems. I met another girl after her, we hooked up once with her giving me head, and about 2 months after she first gave me head, we drank a little and she gave me head again, and I had fingered her that night also. about 5-6 months later, I noticed a single bump on my scrotum. it didn't grow in size or cause any other problems. just recently (the past month) I had noticed a bigger bump on my penis glans (tip of penis). Along with the bump on scrotum and penis glans, I noticed 2 more very small bumps on the right side of scrotum. They are flat topped, HARDLY raised, and they seem to have a "shiny/sheen" to them, almost reflective in a way. I had gone to my doctor 2 weeks ago about the bump on scrotum and penis glans, and he had said the penis glans bump was almost cyst-like, and the one on the scrotum was dried skin/irratation of some sort, very postively saying it wasnt an STD or anything of that sort. he made me an appointment for a urologist that is on the 10th of this month, can anyone give me some closure on this? if you are experienced in any way on Genital Warts/HPV, please give me advice/insight. thank you very much. Attached is 4 photos of the spots. (no genitals showing) just the affected spot. thank you Yahoo!

How do Genital Warts get through Condoms?

How do Genital Warts get through Condoms?

That just doesn't make sense to me, if you've got a male condom and a female condom on, how can the warts get through? will they ALWAYS get through? How does that work?

because its not just on the penis its on your whole pubic area and that is not covered by a condom

BECAUSE THE VIRUS is in ur skin and neva goes away go get them burned off at the docs

Condoms have a 50% chance of having holes when they leave the factory just like a broken electronic that you take back to the store they mess up on condoms to believe me. No sex is safe sex . Life is about risk though so Enjoy!!

Because the warts are not only on the place where the condom covers,

hey genital warts are spred through skin contact or even throught down below liquids.the condon only covers the penis so if there is any anywhere else that touch your skin you will catch them. i hope this helps. if you are stuck google it and see what comes up xx

HPV (the virus that causes genital warts) does not stay only on the genitals. the virus can shed to the surrounding skin…thighs, etc. as such, a condom would not offer protection against the transmission of the virus.

The HPV virus which causes genital warts lives in the SKIN, not bodily fluids. Therefore, any area that a condom doesn't cover (such as the base of the penis or the scrotum) can come into contact with your skin and transmit that way.

For example, a man who has had protected sex with an infected woman may develop warts on the base of their penis and not the head which was covered by the condom.

Vaccines Might Help Fight Throat Cancer, But Hurdles Are High : NPR

1280389520 13 Vaccines Might Help Fight Throat Cancer, But Hurdles Are High : NPR

There’s been a big and controversial push to protect girls from cervical cancer by vaccinating them against the human papillomavirus. Turns out, the same vaccine might also protect boys from developing throat cancer later in life.

Researchers estimate HPV causes more than 11,000 cases of throat cancers in the U.S. each year. Many are cropping up in younger people, especially in white men. Changes in sexual behavior have led to an increase in that could mean more than 20,000 cases annually by 2015, Forbes reports.

So wouldn’t you think that a growing market like that would be attractive to makers of HPV vaccines? not so much, it turns out.

Merck’s Gardasil vaccine is approved for use in boys, but only to protect against genital warts. and a company spokeswoman told us in an email that Merck isn’t looking to pursue approval of a throat-cancer indication anytime soon because of “competing research and business priorities.” same goes for Glaxo, according to Forbes.

A big hurdle is that doctors can’t screen for throat cancer the way they can for cervical cancer with a Pap smear. without a simple test, it’s harder to show the HPV vaccine reduces the risk of throat cancer.

And that, in turn, makes it harder for vaccine makers to run a study that will pass muster with the Food and Drug Administration.

But the outlook isn’t completely bleak. Ohio State researcher Maura Gillison, who got funding for a pilot vaccine study from Merck back in 2008 that has since ended, says further research “could be done either with federal funding or [support from] some philanthropic organization.”

She told Shots that her team has already found reliable methods to detect HPV infections in the throat.

Marshall Posner, the incoming medical director of head and neck cancer at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York, told Forbes it’s a shame Merck isn’t pursuing the research. “But in the end, this is a federal responsibility,” he said. “It’s a public health issue.”
